Since establishing his San Francisco firm, Primo Angeli, Inc. (pai), in 1967, Primo Angeli has built an international reputation in the field of graphic communications, specializing in design for marketing and communications.
PAI has been involved in branding, corporate identity, packaging, naming, and new media services for a stellar client list that has included Ben & Jerry’s, Coca-Cola, Guinness, Intel, Nestlé, Robert Mondavi Winery, Stroh’s Brewery, Xerox, General Foods, General Mills, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Bank of America, AT&T, Banana Republic, Levi Strauss, and the Oakland As. One of the firm’s most high-profile assignments was the creation of environmental graphics and the official poster for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Mr. Angeli’s designs are in permanent collections and exhibitions worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Smithsonian Institution; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw poster collection; and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris.
Mr. Angeli is the author of a book on design cases, Twelve Stories, and Making People Respond. His third book deals with celebratory art. His designs also have been featured in such publications as Idea magazine, Graphis, Package Design, and Communication Arts.
