Douglas Boyd is the president and creative director of Boyd Communications, a Los Angeles-based marketing and communications company. After graduating from Art Center College of Design, Mr. Boyd designed cars for the Lincoln Mercury division of Ford Motor Company before starting his own firm to serve clients in the entertainment industry.
Boyd Communications has created advertising for over 300 major motion pictures for such clients as 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., and Paramount. The firm expanded into developing corporate identity and marketing programs for companies, including Apple, Kaiser Permanente, Blue Cross, Toyota Motors, Honda, Hilton Hotels, Bank of America, Deloitte & Touche, and Washington Mutual.
Having won over 75 national awards for creative excellence, Boyd Communica-tions has been selected for inclusion into the Library of Congress. Recently, the firm received a gold medal in Business Week magazine’s National Product Design Competition. Design publications in Europe, Japan, Korea, and the U.S. have published articles on Boyd Communications.
In addition to his teaching duties, Douglas Boyd has spoken at industry trade groups and lectured at colleges.
