#7 Immigration and Minority Problems
Tuesday - 10:00 a.m. Fall Term 2008 (14 weeks)
Coordinator: Ralph Boulware Co-Coordinator: Bud Shapiro
Course Description
We have debated, but not solved our problems with immigrants and minorities. Other countries with similar problems have handled them differently. By learning how others have tried to deal with those matters, perhaps we can try new approaches and improve the political rhetoric. Among the countries to be studied in this S/DG and their immigrant groups are France (North Africans), Germany (Turks), Netherlands (Moslems), Japan (Koreans), India (Moslems), Israel (Arabs), China (Tibet), Malaysia (Chinese), Britain (Pakistanis), Italy (Albanians), and the U.S. (Hispanics).
