UCLA Alumni Affairs and UCLA Extension invite you to take a class for free. Browse more than 600 courses and find one that excites you or helps you get ahead in your career. Your free-course benefit is good for one year after your graduation.

Explore a range of course offerings - from screenwriting to interior design, accounting to economics, financial management to exercise physiology. Some classes meet in the classroom, and many are offered online so if you live in Westwood or West Virginia, we've got you covered.

On this page, click on a course title in the course directory to get the course abbreviation, name, description of the class, and 6-digit registration number.

You will need the 6-digit registration number to register for your free course.

Once you find the course you want to take, submit your registration application to UCLA Extension Enrollment Services with the following information:

  • Your name, address, email, phone, and UCLA ID #
  • Course registration number
  • Indicate that you are a SP17/SU17/FA17/WI18 UCLA undergraduate or graduate degree recipient redeeming your free course benefit.
  • Indicate your course credit preference: Letter Grade, Pass/No Pass, Noncredit, Do Not Record, or CEU (Continuing Education Units).
