Through lecture and slide illustrations, the furniture designs of the Arts and Crafts movement, Art Deco, International Style, the Bauhaus, Post-War design, Post-Modernism, Contemporary, and other movements will be explored. The course focuses on the various furniture styles as works of art in their own right as well as in relation to their interior settings and the social and political influences that inspired them.
