About this course:

A central feature of most special events and public relations campaigns is the "talent"--the celebrity, speaker, or other individual or group whose participation helps to make the event or project special. In today's media-conscious world, celebrities in particular bring visibility and attract more attention for special events and promotional activities than most other public relations, fundraising, and marketing strategies. Contacting and working with celebrities, however, can require critical research and specialized rules of protocol, not to mention the myriad details that can make or break your event or project. This course covers selecting the right celebrity for your audience and budget, how to find and research celebrity contact information, understanding the best approach and the right "door to enter" with your request, what motivates a celebrity to say "Yes," how much will the celebrity and his/her expenses cost, and the details you need to consider after a celebrity says "Yes."
