Q: When is Graduation?
A: Friday, June 28, 2019
 
Q: Where is Graduation?
A: UCLA Campus, Royce Hall
 
Q: How do I know if I am eligible to attend Graduation?
A: You are eligible if you are currently enrolled in a UCLA Extension-eligible certificate, and intend to finish your studies by the end of Summer 2019 (this includes completion in Fall 2018, Winter 2019, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019). Should you need further confirmation, contact your program representative.

Q: What time should graduates arrive?
A: Graduates should arrive between 3:45-4:00pm
 
Q: What time are guests seated in Royce Hall?
A: The doors open at 4:00pm
 
Q: What time does the graduation ceremony begin/end?
A: Start time: 4:30pm, anticipated end time: 6:30pm
 
Q: Who is the speaker for the 2019 Ceremony?
A: Iris Yamashita. Iris Yamashita is an Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, recognized for the movie Letters from Iwo Jima. The film received a Golden Globe award for “Best Foreign Language Film” and was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture.

Q: When will I receive my certificate?
A: Certificates will be mailed upon completion of program and request to your certificate advisor

Q: Do graduates need a ticket?
A: YES!  There is no cost, but graduates need a ticket to enter Royce Hall.
 
Q: How much are guest tickets?
A: $20 each 
 
Q: How many guests can I bring?
A: The limit is 4 guests.
 
Q: Can I get more than 4 guest tickets?
A: No, In order to accommodate all graduates and their families, the limit is 4.

Q: How do I buy tickets?
A: Students that have opted in will receive an invitation mid-May with a link to purchase tickets online from the UCLA Central Ticket Office/Ticketmaster.

Q: I have a small child under four that does not need a seat, do I need to buy a ticket for them?
A: No, if you have a lap child they do not need a ticket. Please be sure the child remains in the lap of the guest for the entire 2 hour ceremony. 
 
Q: Will I be seated with my family?
A: No, graduates are seated together so they can process into Royce Hall.
 
Q: I don’t want to do the procession into Royce, can I sit with my family instead?
A: Yes
 
Q: Does Royce Hall have disability access?
A: Yes, Royce Hall is equipped with both wheelchair spaces and transfer seats located on select aisles, which have folding armrests to make transfer easier for those with mobility limitations. Please indicate specific seating needs when placing your ticket order, and clarify whether they’re for you, or for your guest.

Q: Do I need to wear cap and gown?
A: No, the attire is business casual.
 
Q: I want to wear a cap and gown, where can I purchase them?
A: Caps and gowns are available for purchase in person only at the UCLA Graduation Zone in the Ackerman Student Union.
 

Q: Do graduates walk across the stage or have their names called?
A: No
 
Q: How are graduates acknowledged at the ceremony?
A: Graduates will stand in groups as their certificate is called.
 
Q: Can I bring balloons into Royce Hall?
A: No, balloons are not allowed.
 
Q: Can I bring food or drinks into Royce Hall?
A: No, only water is allowed into Royce.
