About this course:

This two-session course will be a virtual trip to Florence, the famed birthplace of the Renaissance. The first class will focus on the museums of the city--we will move through the well-known spaces of the Uffizi, the Bargello, and the Academia. Then we will explore the lesser-known museums whose treasures are often overlooked. The second class will explore the architecture of the city-we will chart the development of the Renaissance as we move through the built environment of Florence. This class is perfect for those who have been to Florence, who are planning to go to Florence, or for those who enjoy learning about the history and art of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
