About this course:
The practice of photography is fundamentally the study of light itself. Understanding the basic characteristics of light and how it behaves is critical for photographers. This course introduces fundamental principles of lighting and techniques for achieving high-quality results using only available light and simple, affordable accessories. Through lectures, lighting projects, historical examples, and personal critique, students learn to identify and control the full spectrum of photographic lighting scenarios.
