About this course:

The UCLA Extension and GCI Cybersecurity Program for Business Executives is designed to train and develop professionals to manage cybersecurity issues within an organization. The program prepares working business executives to analyze, manage and build cybersecurity competencies that can protect the organization. It provides participants with the insight and expertise needed to solve real-world cybersecurity problems, recommend practical and strategic solutions, and to communicate results. Built for senior business executives, participants gain technical, analytical, and communication skills through our robust interdisciplinary curriculum, which seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the new cybersecurity threats and players. Although cybersecurity has been a subject of interest for companies since the late 1990’s, increasingly it is an important part of nearly every aspect of business decision-making from due diligence in mergers and acquisitions to supply chain security and enterprise risk management. Senior executives who understand cybersecurity and the technicalities of its mitigation, risk assessment, and policy have a competitive advantage. This course thus provides participants with opportunities to see and experience emerging cybersecurity technologies, so they are aptly equipped to meet executive competitors.
