- Become familiar with Verilog language
- Learn Xilinx ISE for synthesis, place, and route bit file creation
About this course:
FPGAs are commonly used in embedded systems as they allow for a lot of digital logic to be implemented in a single component. Hardware design is an interesting challenge as it requires strong attention to details and a good understanding of your tools and target. This hands-on course provides an introduction to FPGA design using Verilog. Topics include the Verilog language, simulation, test benches, synthesis, implementation, and downloading to the target board. To get the most out of the course, you should use a notebook computer running Windows XP or newer. Assignments are done using a low-cost FPGA board, which each student needs to purchase.
