This online course covers teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities for developing language and emergent literacy skills to enhance reading readiness in young children.

About this course:

Learn how to introduce the excitement and mystery of the written word to young children while building a solid foundation for reading. This course covers teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities that enhance reading readiness, verbal expression, story development, letter recognition and directionality, child authorship, the use of rhyme, and the development of listening abilities.Applies toward Title 22 Regulations and Title 5 Child Development Permits; elective course for both the Early Childhood Lead Teacher Certificate and/or Early Childhood Administration Certificates.
