About this course:

This course focuses on digital signaling, modulation-waveform selection, error-correction coding, multiple-access, spread-spectrum, and bandwidth-efficiency, in wireless systems.  The sessions strive for transferring state-of-the-art technology in an organized way.  We focus on making reasonable engineering choices based on a system's specifications, and whether the system is bandwidth-limited, power-limited, or both.  We examine multipath channels and learn how to mitigate against their degrading effects.  We examine the intricacies of OFDM, and the clever “tricks” that have been designed into it.  We also examine OFDM’s special variant, Single-Carrier OFDM (SC-OFDM).
