About this course:

This intensive course is a unique experience for actors to collaborate with writers and see their work come to life with a director, modeling the real world experience of filmmaking and television. First, in a separate workshop, actors will explore important topics including super objective, objective, listening and responding, textual analysis, and concrete behavioral details. Then they will be cast in an original scene or sequence from a screenplay or teleplay, written by students from the SCRIPT X 451.3, Writing Collaborative Intensive Workshop, and rehearse these scenes supervised by a professional director. In a subsequent weekend the writers will enter the rehearsal process as the actors and their director move towards performance. In this way performers learn the best practices in working with writers and a professional director, while collaborating with writers in rehearsal, receiving valuable feedback that will help them hone their acting skills. At the end of the course, actors will perform the scenes in front of a camera and receive a link to their recorded scenes.
