About this course:

In the Spring of 2020, millions of Covid-restricted schoolchildren began logging in to remote classrooms from home. Researchers continue to explore the profound implications of this unprecedented shift in instructional delivery. But what impact did this educational improvisation have on teachers and parents? Direct video feed introduced each to the other's complex and often frustrating workspaces. The new circumstances also encouraged teachers and parents broach difficult conversations about academic expectations, mental health, parental rights, teacher pay, and work-life balance. This workshop examines the potentially lasting influence of this unique moment in American education.
