About this course:

This course introduces the practice of health coaching as a means of facilitating client engagement and activation. Participants are introduced to evidence-based tools including motivational interviewing, assessment for stage of change, empathy, mindfulness-based practices, and positive psychology. The science of behavior change is introduced and participants learn the basic skills for screening and assessing clients for their stage of change, how to structure a coaching session and the basics of effective communication including active listening, open ended questioning, summarizing, and reflecting.
