Working On Campus

How to get started.

A campus job can be a great way to immerse yourself in the American culture. However, you cannot rely on employment to meet your education expenses. International students on F-1 visas must have sufficient financial resources to cover school and living costs.

If you are interested in employment, UCLA Extension students with F-1 visas are permitted to work only on campus with the following limitations:

  • Up to 20 hours per week (max) if you are a full-time student
  • Up to 40 hours per week if you are working during a vacation quarter. You are eligible for a vacation quarter after 3 consecutive quarters of full-time study.

Below are some options for finding employment

UCLA Recreation

  • Visit UCLA Recreation and click on "current job listings."
  • Click on individual postings to find out more information.
  • Not all jobs accept UCLA Extension students, so call and ask the contact names on the job listings.
