About this course:
In this course, we study the basics of logic. We will study formal, or symbolic logic, concentrating on the use of a symbolic language and the development of a formal system of derivation. In a symbolic language and formal system of derivation, we can make explicit and rigorously study the logically important parts of our language. The parts of logic we will study are Sentential Logic and Monadic Quantification Theory. No prior knowledge of philosophy or mathematics is required. Transferable for UC credit.
