Art - Landscape Integration
October 17 | 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Guest Speaker: Bingshan Chen Wong, PLA, LEED AP
Landscape architecture as a contemporary practice has its theoretical roots in multiple disciplines, drawing from geography, ecology, architecture, sociology, and art. This lecture is an attempt to explore the potential of incorporating artistic qualities into landscape design. It puts forth an understanding of the intimate relationship between contemporary art practice and landscape architecture and applies that understanding in a design context to explain, and hopefully articulate how a designed outdoor environment can be simultaneously a functional space and an artistic expression.
