AP® courses challenge bright students and help get them ready for college. The Advanced Placement Program ® (AP®) Summer Institute offers the most intensive professional development available for AP® educators, which prepares high school teachers for the challenges of the AP® classroom.

Our comprehensive, 100% online courses were designed for teachers who are either designing an AP® course for their high school or who are planning to take over an existing program.

Advanced Placement® Teacher Training

Registration Information

Registration for AP® Summer Institute courses is a two-step process:

Step 1 | Register for you AP® Summer Institute course(s) via the College Board Event webpage(s) listed below in the Event and AP® Subject Session Schedule.

Step 2 | Once registered through the College Board Event website, you will need to enroll and pay for your UCLA Extension AP® Subject course(s). Please select a course(s) from the list below and follow the prompts to enroll and complete payment.


Registration for AP® Summer Institute requires the use of your College Board account.  For information regarding your College Board account, visit the Account Help webpage. Each event represents one week of training and can have multiple AP® Subject sessions. All UCLA Extension AP® Subject sessions are four-days long.

Date: July 17 - July 21, 2023
Subjects: AP Chemistry; AP World History

A digital, downloadable version of the College Board workbook will be provided prior to the class start date. The cost of the digital workbook is included in the course fee.

If hardcopy workbooks are preferred, you may purchase them at the College Board online store.
