About this course:This salon opens the door to enhancing experiences with contemporary art. After a first meeting in the classroom, we take field trips to museums and galleries while sharing conversations around the table. In this course, we consider themes such as the artist’s use of materials, the time and place of the artist’s activity, perception of two and three dimensional space, the figure, abstraction, and performance. Guided walkthroughs and discussions support inquiry based looking. Note: members must be prepared to provide their own transportation to field trips.
