About this course:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is probably the most famous prodigy in the history of classical music. As early as age five, he was already an accomplished performer on keyboard and violin and began composing music. His musical legacy; however, extends far beyond the mythos of these early years and he develops into one of the most important composers of the 18th century. This course surveys the works of Mozart in the context of his life and times. It draws connections between his works and a variety of personal and cultural issues.
