Osher (50+). In this course, Sharon Boorstin of the Los Angeles Times interviews Diana Friedberg about her documentary film series, World on a String, which is about beaded jewelry from around the world.
Diana Friedberg is a film maker, author, and photographer who has traveled to more than fifty countries to explore the history and impact of beaded jewelry in cultures from Africa to the Amazon and from Asia’s Silk Road to the Arctic. Her documentary film series, World on a String, has won more than thirty international awards. In this interview with Sharon, Diana shares photos and stories of the exotic beaded jewelry in her films and the people who made them. Our dazzling virtual journal around the world will end in Diana’s own home, where she shows us highlights of her astonishing personal collection of beaded jewelry and art.
