About this course:

The experiences of Muslim women vary widely between and within different societies. This course looks at the basis of women’s rights in Islam, specifically in Iran from before the revolution in 1979 to the present. Our inquiry provides a basic knowledge on Islam, and a deeper look into the reality of women in Iran versus their rights under Iranian law in different economic, social, and political aspects. After the lecture, there will be time for audience to ask questions from the speaker.
