This course leads students through the basic steps of how to create, modify, measure, dimension, and print 2D design elements using AutoCAD. Students become aware of how AutoCAD operates in full-scale and how to create appropriate levels of detail based on ultimate plotting scale. Instruction emphasizes achieving AutoCAD drawings that are accurate, readable, and graphically consistent with the desired output scales: large site plans, small area plans, and construction details. This introductory course is appropriate for students with an understanding of landscape architectural drawings but no previous experience with AutoCAD. For technical requirements click here.
Enrollment limited. Students must have their own copy of the software (AutoCAD, any version 2004-2008; student versions of the software may be purchased at www.studica.com. UCLA Extension computer labs are not available.
