Today, designers must envision compelling ways to develop user-centered products and services. This course is an overview of the latest user experience practices and introduces the basics of product strategy, user research, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing. This includes topics such as mental models, taxonomies, personas, site maps, and wireframes. Throughout the course, students will develop a single comprehensive project for their portfolio that will demonstrate both their creative and problem-solving capabilities. Prerequisite: Familiarity with a software that can be used to create wireframes, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Powerpoint, OmniGraffle or Axure.
