Each one of us is bursting with stories to tell and an intrinsic creative urge, and this supportive workshop helps you get the words out with a sense of joy, play, and "safe risking." Inspired by excerpts from great literature, you explore how to make readers feel what you feel--or what you want them to feel--through figurative language. You are empowered to create from new perspectives, experiment with a variety of literary forms, and work towards discovering your voice on the page, be it in fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, or a combination thereof. Throughout the workshop, you engage in free-form creative writing exercises that can later be honed and crafted into narrative pieces come to life. By the end of the course, you have at least 1 well-established (if not perfectly polished) work. No previous writing experience necessary.
Enrollment limited to 15 students.
