Course DescriptionThis course provides an introduction to the structure, function, and integration of cells, tissues, and organs of the human body. Students will learn about the muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, renal, endocrine, reproductive, sensory, and cognitive systems. Instruction develops from molecular and cellular principles, through organs and organ systems. It also covers energy metabolism and fluid compartments; considering homeostasis and responses to stress; and concluding with central nervous system functions in movement, consciousness, and language.
