Course DescriptionDesigned for photography students who wish to focus on personal projects, this course includes lectures on the history of fine art photography on such topics as dada; photography's influence on performance art and ethereal works; Fluxus; the idea of chance operations; structuralism; and conceptualism. Class includes demonstrations and discussions of techniques and various capture methods, discussion of student goals, and critique of works in progress. Students complete a number of creative projects based on the styles and techniques discussed in class that also reflect their own creative style. Final projects should serve as strong portfolio pieces.
