Course DescriptionIn our sunny Mediterranean climate, patios and balconies can be an integral part of our living space. In this course, students are introduced to the prolific palette of Southern Californian plants that can be grown in pots, providing greenery that works for even the most hectic lifestyles. Through demonstration and practice, discover the pleasures and pitfalls of growing plants in pots, ranging from annual food crops to full-sized trees. Plant combinations, irrigation systems, potting mediums, and materials are covered. Students leave the course able to create a container garden in a range of styles for almost any balcony or patio to enhance a wide variety of living spaces.
