This workshop covers the key elements of fiction writing, including plot, characterization, setting, point-of-view, and various story development techniques, as well as publication markets. Your goal is to develop three short stories over the course of the quarter. Transferable for UC credit.
Course OutlineStart writing short stories in this introductory course where you learn the key elements of powerful fiction and participate in a collaborative writers' workshop.
Course may be taken to satisfy core (Beginning) units in the Fiction Certificate Program, or as an elective in either fiction/creative nonfiction certificate.
