Course Description
In this definitive introduction to the rapidly-advancing world of Virtual Reality (VR), filmmakers will learn how to navigate the VR landscape – gaining a solid understanding of the medium’s current state and developing the tools necessary to adapt to future developments. The course will examine the major players in the field and the technologies defining and driving VR. Other topics include the language of cinematic live-action VR, the limitations of the medium, issues related to collaboration and gamification, and understanding the software required to make VR. By the end of the course, students will have gained the basic set of skills to make their own VR project, as well as an understanding of the creative and business aspects of the burgeoning virtual reality industry.
