About this course:

This six week workshop is for writers and/or illustrators who want to explore the written and visual aspects of creating a picture book. We will cover picture book manuscript structure, memory, thinking outside the box, research, the power of the page turn, creating a visual world, and seeing your work through multiple visual and written interpretations. Short writing exercises will help you develop a deeper understanding of each technique as you undertake your main project: a picture book manuscript and mock-up. This class will be a "safe zone" for discussion of student work and help you hone your own critique skills. You'll engage in an ongoing feedback process overseen by both instructors, offering two unique perspectives on your work. The course goal is to complete a picture book manuscript.
Prerequisites
WRITING X 441.1 Picture Book I or approved equivalent course.
