MFA Application Prep

Develop and polish your writing sample, then determine the best programs for you in this quick three-course specialization.

Students should first apply and be accepted by the instructor to Short Story III; all other courses in the specialization are open-enrollment.

Students receive an Award of Completion from UCLA Extension and a one-on-one consultation with a Writers’ Program instructor on up to 25 pages of their MFA application writing sample.

Suggested Prerequisites

Since advanced workshops require instructor approval for registration, the Writers' Program encourages students to apply for the MFA Application Prep Specialization only after acceptance into the first workshop of the series.
