This course emphasizes the development of writing and reporting skills, and tailoring articles to suitable markets. Topics include developing and pitching story ideas, conducting research and interviews, story construction, and the difference between writing for newspapers and magazines and websites. Students report, write, and workshop short features that meet editors' requirements.
Suggested Prerequisites

It is advisable that you complete the following (or equivalent) since they are prerequisites for Writing the Feature Article.

X 432 Reporting and Writing I strongly recommended, or equivalent knowledge and consent of the instructor.
