About This Course
In divided times when many are struggling to find safe outlets for writings to express their truths and emotions—grief, rage, loss, and more—this workshop offers pathways to create poems that convey emotion without being divisive. We will read poems that model alternative ways to convey responses to the world around us, and participants can select formats they wish to explore. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created rough drafts/new work that are transformative for them as well as for audience members. Open to poets and writers working in other genres who interested in applying these ideas to their work.
