About this course:

This course introduces the trainee with an onboarding period where the principles of patient history intake, examination, diagnostic testing, differential diagnosis and treatment planning are learned. After competency is established, the trainee will have patients placed in their own schedule for treatment with faculty approval. Trainees who successfully complete this course will be able to: 1.    Learn about the scope of conditions patients present with to an orofacial pain practice 2.    Understand the process of patient examination and diagnostic testing 3.    Learn about the armamentarium and medications used in an orofacial pain practice 4.    Learn about practice management involving the orofacial pain practice 5.    Achieve competency in patient examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and the performing of procedures
