Orthodontic Preclinical and Clinical Training Seminar II

About this course:

This course is designed to provide trainees with the essential knowledge, skills, and practical experience to be familiar with the full sequence of orthodontic procedures at the preclinical and clinical level.  The trainees will learn to describe the types of malocclusions, describe the type of treatments involved, and perform procedures on typodont that are routinely used in chairside assistance for orthodontists. The training and practices will include changing archwires,, and ligature ties, taking impressions, obtaining 3D digital scan, taking orthodontic photos, etc. e wire bending sessions will includes the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order bends, closing loops, archwire coordination, soldering etc. The cast analysis session will cover the analysis of symmetry, space, and tooth size using digital models. In the postdoctoral residency clinic, trainees will be expected to co-treat a cohort of patients with the orthodontic residents under the supervision of their assigned faculty members.
