About This Course

This course provides support for candidates in achieving National Board Certification, an advanced teaching credential for PreK-12 grade educators. It begins with a 4-day summer institute followed by three 4-day Saturday academies and a 1-day assessment preparation session. Candidates meet with National Board Certified Teachers and Support Providers via Zoom who guide them through compiling the components of the portfolio and simulations of the Assessment Center exercises. Candidates share their entries, refine their pedagogy, implement developed practice, and reflect on their teaching and learning. Additionally, instructors demonstrate methods and patterns of thinking that support accomplished teaching from K-12 to adult learners.
