This course introduces students to the topic of aircraft tooling and its application in a production environment. Special focus is given to unique features of complex manufacturing requirements in a production setting using fundamental tools and methods. Students gain a key skillset in identifying and communicating tooling requirements across from low to high complexity applications. Additionally, the topic of tools as media of inspection is introduced through the use of metrology systems and how manufacturing engineering applies this capability. Lastly, the students are familiarized with an array of work products in a manufacturing and production setting.
