- Design, calculate, and define code requirements of advanced plumbing systems
- Apply plumbing common practices of storm water systems, pumps and pumping systems, automatic fire sprinkler, standpipe systems, gaseous agent suppression systems, and medical gas systems
- Describe specialized water treatment systems and fuel oil systems, and evaluate their required specialized piping materials
About this course:
This PSD II Course benefits individuals who are familiar with Basic Plumbing Design and Fundamental Engineering Practices. This course builds on MECH&AE X 400.8, Plumbing System Design (PSD) 1. Included is a discussion of the topics listed in the course module. A discussion of the piping materials needed for each type of system is reviewed. Week 11 is reserved for student input, and a topic for discussion will be selected at the conclusion of the Week 10 lecture.
Prerequisites
A good grasp of fundamental mathematics and completion of MECH&AE X 400.8 Plumbing Systems Design I with a grade of "C" or better.
