About this course:

The lecturer, Paul N. Clark, Ph.D., is a subject matter expert in Aircraft Structural Integrity and will discuss the basic design philosophies for prevention of failures within a context of critical aircraft structures. The fundamentals of fatigue and aircraft fleet management will be introduced and discussed as well as some historical lessons learned. The basics of Static Strength, Safe-Life, and Damage Tolerance Design methodologies will be introduced and discussed. Some tragic outcomes from each of these will be discussed and how to embrace methods for prevention of these failures will be the focus of this short course.
