What you can learn.

  • Acquire an understanding of the principles of selection, application, and operations of automation systems within the aerospace industry
  • Demonstrate working abilities to perform calculations and analysis of automated production operations
  • Create interactive projects by building circuits and writing elementary code to control them
  • Obtain exposure to the first principles of control systems
  • Articulate the use of automation, and be able to identify both the advantages and limitations for different levels and types of systems and equipment

About this course:

This course introduces students to Automation in the Aerospace Industry. Content includes Automation and Control Technologies, Material Handling and Identification, Manufacturing Systems, Quality Control Systems, Manufacturing Support Systems and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. Primers of Mathematical Elements underlying Physical System Operations, with Exposure to First Principles of Control Systems is Included, and Lab Work Demonstrating Functional Microcontroller Device Synthesis and Operation.
