MAE 270B: Linear Optimal Control (Instructor: Prof. T. Iwasaki) Lecture, four hours; outside study, eight hours. Requisite: course M270A or Electrical Engineering M240A. Existence and uniqueness of solutions to linear quadratic (LQ) optimal control problems for continuous-time and discrete-time systems, finite-time and infinite-time problems; Hamiltonian systems and optimal control; algebraic and differential Riccati equations; implications of controllability, stabilizability, observability, and detectability solutions.Corporate Education
