What you can learn.

  • Have an instructor chosen for you based on the scope of your project
  • Meet with the instructor for a total of 6 hours over the semester to go over your progress
  • Only available to students who are in a certificate program and with a substantive portion of their course work completed

About this course:

The Independent Study offers students the opportunity to work on their own film projects with the mentorship of a UCLA Extension instructor. Instructors are selected based on the scope of the students' proposal. Together, the student and instructor will arrange to meet either in person or by phone/online for a total of 6 hours over the course of the quarter. Independent Studies are restricted only to candidates in certificate programs; and only to those students who have completed a substantive portion of their course work. Students must complete the independent study application for approval to enroll.
