About This Course
This practical course provides insights into the role of sound supervisor and other sound professionals in film and TV projects. Through lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and field trips, students develop an overall vision for effective soundtrack creation throughout the movie or TV series. Students learn how to utilize Pro Tools in the context of audio post-production. Topics cover dialog clean up and editing, recording ADR, Foley, hard effects and use of background sounds from libraries, and practices of music editing including temp scores and mix. Students must have their own computers (Mac recommended) with an active subscription to the Pro-Tools software.
