Candice Baker-Mackey

Candice Mackey has more than ten years of experience working in secondary and higher education. Having several years of experience as a Freshman Application Reader for UCLA Admissions—Candice utilizes her expertise to advise students and families on the college admissions process. She is currently an academic counselor at a large public high school in West Los Angeles. This district also happens to be deemed as the 4th most diverse district in the nation—Her knowledge base and background serving multi-cultural populations including those under-served and first-generation is extensive. She maintains active memberships in professional organizations for (NACAC), National Association for College Admission Counseling and (WACAC), Western Association of College Admission Counseling.
She has served as a Co-Leader for NACAC's Public School Counselor Special Interest Group community. She has served three terms as Co-Chair of the NACAC National Greater Los Angeles College Fair; one of the largest college fairs in the country.
She has presented at various educational conferences and workshops regionally and nationally. She presented on 'Successful Partnerships Between Schools, Independent Counselors + Test Prep Companies' at WACAC Share, Learn, and Connect Program, UCLA (Feb. 2018). She sees herself as a life-long learner and always eager to share information to students and colleagues alike.
She holds a BA in Psychology and Ethnic Studies from Cal-Polytechnic Pomona University, a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential from the University of La Verne.
