Christie Rice

With more than 15 years is the design and construction industry, Christie Rice began her career as a Structural Engineer and progressed to development management as an Owner’s Representative.  She is currently a Senior Project Manager with S.L. Leonard & Associates, overseeing projects primarily for nonprofit organizations who have a heart-warming mission to support the community and developers who are tackling the current homeless crisis in Southern California.

Christie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks and a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.

Christie started her professional career as a Structural Engineer in Dallas, Texas then moved to Los Angeles and to continue her career as a Structural Engineer.  Soon after she obtained her license as a California Professional Engineer, she progressed to development management as an Owner’s Representative.

She managed numerous projects through planning, design and construction for El Camino Community College District.  Campus projects included Central Plant Facility, Campus Site Infrastructure Upgrades, Electrical/Data Campus-Wide Conversion, Math Business Allied Health building, Shops building, Parking Structure and Athletic Fields, Social Science Renovation and the Humanities Plaza and Food Service building.

Her other project experience as an Owner’s Representative include, but not limited to, the Porsche Experience Center in Carson, CA, Faraday Future Electric Car Manufacturing Facility in Las Vegas, NV, Tiffany & Company flagship stores in Beverly Hills, Vancouver, British Columbia and Waikiki and the British Consulate office in Century City, CA.

Christie serves as a Board member of Bright Star Education Group for Bright Star Schools, which is a charter school system with nine schools throughout Los Angeles.  She is supporting Bright Star Schools as they continue to improve their school facilities to be reflective of their exceptional educational programs that they offer to the Los Angeles community, from Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade and higher education support.

Christie holds a California Real Estate Salesperson license.  She was also selected for a 40 under 40 Inspiring & Innovative Professionals award in 2016 by the Pacific Coast Business Times.
