Craig Raines

Craig Raines is a landscape architect, and urban designer offering over 33 years’ experience in the planning, design and implementation of large scale communities, streetscapes, wetlands, learning institutions, estates, and parks and open space projects. Craig has worked for several firms including his own in the Southern California area and has been employed for the past 13 years with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks Advanced Planning group as a Landscape Architect.

Areas of expertise include the community engagement process, design, design development, specifications writing/development, technical review, construction documentation, detail development, project management, construction management, public relations and presentations.

Craig earned his BLA from the University of Idaho in 1985 and has been practicing in the state of California since. Craig is licensed, #4082, to practice Landscape Architecture in the state of California.

Outside the area of Landscape Architecture Craig is an avid motorcyclist/racer, art lover and outdoor enthusiast

Like the students in the Landscape Architecture Program at UCLA Extension, landscape architecture is a second career for Craig as he started out as a mason and carpenter in the construction field.
