Elham Shafa

For more than fifteen years, I have been practicing as an Estate Planning Attorney with emphasis on drafting simple to complex estate planning documents, postmortem trust administration, probate administration, and assisting individuals, families, and fiduciaries with estate planning issues. As an Estate Planning Attorney, I advise on the topics of wills and trusts, the application of the unlimited marital deduction, portability election, step-up in basis, various forms of holding title to property, selection of business interests as well as other tax, insurance, and investment issues. I hold a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law, where I graduated magna cum laude and served as the Lead Articles Editor for Southwestern University Law Review. Furthermore, during law school, I conducted tutorial sessions for first year Civil Procedure class involving approximately 100 students. Finally, I have authored an article based on my research in corporate law, which was published in the Southwestern University Law Review entitled Reverse Piercing of the Corporate Veil: The Implications of Bypassing “Ownership” Interest.
